It is HP time! No, not a printer company having a half year sale - Harry Potter. Book no 6 is to be released. What HP time also means, is that I am keep my eyes glued on my mail box, for the first "Harry is from the Devil" e-mails and articles. Now, I'm not going to give an opinion about Harry. I want to mention a few points.
Where did the anti-Harry letters originate from?
It started from a website, content very similar to that of the MAD magazine. The e-mail was made up, as if written by Christians finding Potter objectionable. It contained plenty of untruths, quoting from the books, but many of the quotes were either incorrect or out of context. Arguments were attributed to ex-Satanists.
Question is - if a person has religious objections to Harry Potter - does one now use lies to fight it? Does the same Bible that a person quotes against Harry, not say something about speaking the truth? I was amazed how people react when you tell them that the e-mail was a hoax - being unteachable = pride. With pride in your life there does not need to be a devil, you are at loggerheads with God.
Annoyed with someone who does read the books, so you forward these type of mails all the time? You make them feel unspiritual? A Christian leader once said that manipulation is a sin of witchcraft.
What amazes me about these e-mails is, that there are many books on bookshelves, teaching kids the real witchcraft. There are many story books, with very obvious occult practises - somehow I have never received a mail warning me against it. Wonder why?
My opinion is, if anyone has these objections to Potter, find out the facts for yourself. There have been enough supposed ex-witches and ex-satanists, who turned out to be liars about this aspect. There are many supposed Christian leaders, who are nothing but control freaks, and who will pass on lies, clothed in a Christian jacket. Check every fact out for yourself.
Do not pass an e-mail on if you are not sure about the facts. Whatever side of the coin you're on, don't judge, and speak the truth.
I am not stating an opinion pro- or anti-Harry, I am calling on people to make sure every word is true.
Oh by the way, please don't buy books for the purpose of burning them. U$18 to 30 (ZAR 150-00+) can be used with much better results by literacy projects, missionaries, hospices, SPCA's and other worthwhile cases.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I send out one of those chain emails, someone emails me back that it's a hoax, or telling me how wrong I was. I always got burned on that. So I don't send out emails anymore. i don't care how blessed I'm gonna be if I email it to ten friends (plus the person who sent it to you)!!!
Good points.
By the way. . . I have a friend who "thinks outside of the box." He tells others that I am the kind of guy who sometimes has trouble finding the box!
Thanks again!
I tried to tell him about those evil chain letters 15 years ago finnaly He gits it.
thank you
If a person is not able to tell the difference between fiction and fact than perhaps they SHOULD believe every email that comes along!
I'm really looking forward to the new HP movie coming out, it looks badass!
